Under the Neon Lights

The history of neon lights dates back to the beginning of the 1900s when French scientist, Georges Claude, discovered how to trap neon gas in a tube and electrify it. In 1923, Los Angeles became the first place in America to have a neon sign - neon signs then gained popularity not only in Los Angeles but across the country. Neon lights found at fast-food establishments have easily become one of my favorite aspects of LA. This book attempts to capture the raw beauty that we often look past, of the neon signs.
